Start with the session

Ask the venue whether paddles and balls are supplied. A social introduction, regular club session and organised competition can have different equipment requirements. Buying everything at once can leave you with equipment you rarely use.

Choose in the right order

First confirm the ball and court requirements. Then compare paddles by grip, dimensions, weight and what comes in the selected option. Finally, choose a bag around the equipment you intend to carry. An accessory is worth adding when it solves an identifiable problem.

Build a packing list
